(More customer reviews)This is a lovely cutting board, very functional, knife friendly, and if treated well, I believe it will offer years of service for a very reasonable price. I notice some reviewers of other bamboo boards have complained about warped boards, but I think that is an easily avoided problem. No prolonged soaking, good air drying before storing, and a reasonable schedule of oiling. The best oil is food grade mineral oil, which will not go rancid, and you don't need to buy a specialty board oil. Just grab a cheap bottle of mineral oil in the laxative aisle of the local pharmacy.
There's a French adage about boards and their love and care: Oil them once a day for a week, once a week for a month, and once a month for a year. Don't know if it is necessary to be that diligent, but definitely take the few minutes it takes to oil a good board regularly, and even an inexpensive board like this will serve you well. By the way, I found this board at TJX for 10 bucks, and decided to review it here because I liked it enough to pay the $28 price here if I wanted another one.
