My porch light is not located close enough to my pit and I often ended up trying to mop my meats with sauces or season them in the dark or try and hold a flash light. Both of these options were not working out. I looked all over for something small and bright. There are allot of clamp on models and lights of much larger size. I don't want to hassle with a desk lamp sized light. It's more to get in the way. This unit is inexpensive, durable and very bright. It can be carried in your pocket and pulled out and attached as needed. It's held in place by a strong magnet and I think it works out great. See my full review with pictures on my site.
