Weber 9501 Roast Holder Review

(More customer reviews)This may be called a roast holder but you've missed out until you have used one to cook a turkey. You can cook up to a 14 lb. turkey easily in a 22-1/2 inch grill using this rack. I cooked my first turkey in a Weber 21 years ago and have cooked at least two every year since. There is no comparison if you want a moist tasty turkey. My family would mutiny if I tried to cook a turkey any other way and my wife loves to have her oven available to fix the rest of the holiday dinner. Maybe one day I'll try cook a roast but I wouldn't trade this rack for any other way to cook a turkey.

Weber 32911 Salt and Pepper Shakers Review

(More customer reviews)These salt and pepper shakers are pretty much what I expected, plastic shakers to put outside that you can drop and get dirty and not worry about it. For the price, the build quality meets or maybe even exceeds what I would expect.
The holes are way too big though. I never understand how companies screw up the size of holes on these shakers. They have one feature they really need to check before they package it and that is the ability to shake salt or pepper out without releasing too much or too little.
Too much you say? Make the holes smaller!
Too little? Make them larger.
Did they even run salt or pepper through these? A LOT comes out. Much more than this salt lover would ever use.

(More customer reviews)I'm rating this product a 5 stars under the belief this is a later rev of the product. The earlier rev is thin and does not have velcro straps to secure the bottom. Without the straps, the cover will blow off in slightly windy situations (cover is very light).
How do I know this? I bought the earlier rev. It blew off and the corner of the grill tore the cover. Fortunately, Weber's customer service is outstanding and probably aware of the poor design. As a result, they sent me a later rev free of charge (no shipping charges to/from). The new rev had the design flaws corrected and is top quality. Would definitely recommend the cover. It keeps the dirt, etc off the grill. Also, it's ventilated. Although the grill is mostly stainless steel and plastic, don't want the other parts to rust.

This grate really does the job. The original was a source of irritation because it simply couldn't take the heat of normal grilling and high temperature cleaning without warping.
This one is much better. At the same time I bought these grates, I bought the stainless flavorizer gizzies. They, too, are worth the extra money.

The thing is held to the grill by two flat hooks that don't do a good job of holding it flat against the grill. The result is that there is a lot of horizontal play when the lid is sitting in it.
Overall, it's better than using the built in lid hook to hang it on the grill handle, but not by a lot.

The cover, which was designed with a mesh vent on the back fed water into the drip pan of my grill, filled the grease pan to overflowing and wet & greased the entire inside of the lower cabinet. I called Weber's help line and a nice lady confirmed my original purchase then said she would ship a redesigned cover to me. Within twenty hours Fed Ex arrived with a new redesigned and suitable cover at no charge. Service like that makes Weber a great company.

(More customer reviews)This is my fourth gas grill which replaces a very expensive stainless "Turbo" unit I bought from Barbecues Galore about eight years ago. That Turbo started out fine, but steadily deteriorated to the point where I didn't even want to fire it up anymore. The quality of materials and workmanship on the Weber Summit S-650 is top shelf. Every detail is well thought-out and executed, including the burner system, high-end side burner, LP tank weight guage, heavy guage stainless grills, jet ignition system, separate smoker box and burner, drip tray system, massive lid, and LED grill-out lights that really work. I've only owned the Summit for a short time, but everything I've grilled so far has turned out perfectly. The six burners and large cooking area make it possible to cook for a large party, but also provide more options for indirect cooking. Want more heat without increased gas usage? Turn on the burners closer to the food. It's brilliant. Perhaps the best features are the flavorizer bars and grease drip system. They virtually guarantee no flare-ups on fatty foods like burgers and chicken quarters, which was a constant source of frustration with my previous grill. The grease hits the flavorizer bars and disappears into a poof of smoke. What misses the flavorizer bars hits the full width slanted grease tray that terminates into an aluminum catch pan. Clean and easy to manage with zero flare-ups and no charred food.
I really can't say enough good things about this grill and I can't think of a single negative to write about. While the Summit S-650 may seem expensive at first glance, it compares very favorably to grills costing 4x as much. With the Summit, you don't get what you pay for...you get much more. Is it possible to love a grill? :-)

We were so thrilled with our last Weber (the Genesis Silver) and wanted to repeat the experience with a larger cooking surface.
Our old Weber never needed repairs but we are comforted by the fact that the Weber Grills are modular and you can inexpensively replace any needed part.
We have put our new grill through its paces these past few weeks cooking fish, pork, steak and vegetables. I used the side burner to heat the sauce. It holds the temperature beautifully, is easy to clean and easy to use. You won't regret buying this product.

(More customer reviews)I feel the other reviewers rated this incorrectly. This is not the top grate for your food, rather this is for putting the charcoal on in the bottom section. There is no flip-up side option for this, there is no alternate sizing either. It just goes on the bottom of the kettle bowl so you have space for your coals. It is extremely heavy duty, my original grate from 1980 is almost rusted through and I have no need to replace it. But if you do, I'm sure it can last another 20 years.

(More customer reviews)All reviews indicating probe failure are consistent with my findings, which is an engineering design flaw in the choice of low-temp material for the wire insulation that eventually carbonizes with high-temp exposure (my opinion). The thermister sensor itself remains functional (assumming it was always inside food; I disassembled one probe to confirm how it failed). The failure will not usually occur immediately, unless exposed to very high temp, such as a grill on sear. As far as I can tell all probes of different manufactures are essentially of the same design (I have several, and they are interchangeable among the units). The main point to take away is that ALL of these will eventually fail after accumulating enough high-temp exposure time. You are essentially cooking the wire insulation until it carbonizes internally and shorts out the sensor. The silly part of this is high-temp wire probes have been around for decades, so this is just plain bad engineering, not rocket science, but so far (based in part on other reviews) I don't know of anyone doing it correctly in the consumer market (you need an industrial probe). The worst environment for these is the grill, which is why I put this review here; you may get only one use.

Medium fits BBQs up to 58" wide and 26" deep
Large fits BBQs up to 63" wide and 26" deep
XLarge fits BBQs up to 70" wide and 26" deep
XXLarge fits BBQs up to 70" wide and 36" deep
I think this sizing info is more informative than what Amazon provides. My grill is, in its largest dimensions, 68" x 25". Although the XL might have worked, I am happy with the XXL size, it fits well.
I like the appearance and overall quality of this product. It seems to be well-made and functional. My only complaint is that they should have made the straps on the bottom (which attach around the grill wheels or legs) a little bit longer. Either that, or they should have made the whole cover a little bit longer. I can attach 2 of the 4 straps, which is quite sufficient. I'm glad I chose to get the XXL size.
