(More customer reviews)While I like Shish Kabobs, I do not like cooking shish kabobs. Why? Because the usual skewers are round and have wooden handles. As the food shrinks while cooking, it looses its attachment to the skewer and rotates freely making flipping near impossible. And those wooden handles can't over the fire, of course.
Weber to the rescue! This whole unit is metal, so there are no wooden handles. The skewers are rectangular, which impedes slippage of food while cooking. The skewers fit into grooves in the base, and using good mitts or tongs, the large handles make flipping easy. The entire unit is solidly made.
If one gives all parts a good scrub as soon as they are cool enough to touch, the cleanup is easy. The base snaps apart, so there should be no storeage problems either.
And the price is right

(More customer reviews)I have used this thermometer for about three years and it works great for its intended purpose, I insert it in roast, briskets, pork butts etc. when I smoke meat, Just make sure you push the reset buttons on each piece when you change the batteries or your reciever will not show a temperature. Mine did this and I thought it was broken so I bought a new one and decided to read the instructions and read about the resets , I took the new one back and I am a happy camper now smoking my meat on my smoker I bought from Amazon.

(More customer reviews)I have the Weber Genesis grill Weber 3741001 Genesis E-310 Propane Gas Grill, Black and wanted a smoker. I had a generic smoker box and it sits on top of the flavor bars and never got very hot so very little smoke. The Weber Smoker puts the wood chips directly on the flavor bars getting them hot very fast and producing a lot of smoke. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is they say to clean the ash out after each use but much of it tends to fall into the bottom of the grill due to the large openings of the bars. I still highly recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)This is the newer model S670 #2780301. The previous model was 2780001 so check the number before ordering. I was planning on the smaller s470 but Northline express had a sale on the s670 for about the same price, so I jumped on it. It arrived by freight (free shipping) and the driver rolled it into my garage by himself with a special dolly. Plan on 2 or more people to help move it. My son and I moved it about 5 feet at a time working towards my backyard.
It came well packaged and completely assembled except for the 2 side wings. A few screws and you're done. They recommend a 20# propane tank but I'm looking for 30-40# because if you use all the burners the propane disappears fast, so have a spare ready. I thought the gimmicky knob and grill lights would be useless, but now I find them very helpful at dusk and night. They're useful gimmicks! The hide away rotisserie motor is another nice touch. It frees up shelf space when not in use and you don't have to attach and unattach it when needed. You just pull a tab and there it is ready to use.
I don't want to drag this out but I've used all of the grills functions and the results are excellent. It's expensive but worth it. I would assume the s470 is just as good for less. Look for overstock and other sales. I think I got a great deal. Good luck!
Oh! There's a newer cover for it also 7555 with side vents instead of the front and rear vents that leaked water into the grease tray.

(More customer reviews)I read the reviews on the other Weber BBQ tools and felt these would fit my needs best. I didn't want a fork as "they" always recommend against piercing the meat you are cooking, which causes the juices to escape. I can always use a brush for applying sauces and this ones long handled enough it's not going to get lost in the shuffle. It also has plenty of space to hold a fair amount of sauce among the silicon bristles. (Although I haven't used it yet, just bought this set 6/19, I feel very confident it should work just fine! I've used other BBQ tools and these are a definite improvement!) The spatula is big enough to turn the biggest burgers you'd ever probably want to make and should work fine for fish too. The tongs have a long gripping area, and one thing I learned from the reviews on other types of Weber sets is that it's nice to have the ability to keep the tongs 'closed' as this set does. The handles are all nice and long so your hands and arms are kept safely from the heat. The pieces all have large loops so you can hang these tools from almost any size hangars! Oh, and there's enough silicon on the handles so they're easy to grip and shouldn't slip!!

(More customer reviews)I grill almost everyday in summer and quite a bit even in the winter. So I tend to be a bit hard on my grills and I had never really spent much on my grills and I replace every 2-4 years. This time around though, I fell in love with some of the newer stainless steel grills out there and on some of them it appears that you get more than from Weber: more grilling space, or more BTUs, or just bigger. So I decided to go digging a bit.
I checked consumer reports and this Weber grill is rated the #1 grill out there for the following reasons:
a) very even heating
b) quick heating
c) very solid construction
d) low propensity for flareups
Consumer reports brought out some of the more glaring shortfalls to other grills that were not easily apparent then blinded by all that stainless steel at the local warehouse store. Armed with some consumer reports data I went back to the local stores that have these grills and I started to see what they were saying: plastic where Weber was aluminium, solid doors vs thin with empty backing, open cabinets where Weber has fully enclosed cabinet, cast steel casing where Weber's is Aluminium. Try as I might, I couldn't find the exact model I wanted so after much deliberation I bought the Webber Genesis S-310 from Amazon. I always order from Amazon but I was a bit hesitant to order due to a review of someone getting a dented grill. But since I really wanted the S-310 and I trust Amazon, I went ahead and ordered and everything arrived perfect (Thank you Amazon and Eagle - whoever you are).
The Bad:
1) It arrived in a box factory disassembled into a bunch of parts
The Good:
1) It was very well packaged in the box (additionally, most stainless parts had a plastic film to keep from scratching)
2) It shipped and arrived very quickly (within 3 days of ordering - standard shipping)
3) No dings or scratches on the grill or even on the box (Eagle did a great job on this one)
4) The fact that the grill was disassembled - which allowed me to get to know the grill as I assembled it and raelly appreciate the construction
5) Instructions were clear
6) I have to say that in putting this grill together took about one hour of work and it really had me appreciate the strength of Weber's construction on this product. Its frankly amazing how well constructed this grill is.
7) Construction of this grill is made of stainless steel and cast aluminium with plastic only in the wheels (which are very tough), hose, knobs and a couple of small fittings.
8) The undercarriage is enclosed on all four sides with gorgeous stainless doors which are thick and fully whose back is also stainless.
9)Many details were taken into account, there are adjustments so that the knobs are fully centered.
10) There's a chain to hold a lighting match and the lighting hole is neatly placed on the front right corner of the grill although the grill has electronic ignition.
11) The temperature guage was placed in the front center of the grill and is large and easy to see.
12) The knobs are located on top of the grill which is fantastic if you have small children. It makes it much harder for children to reach the knobs and turn them
13) It doesn't come with a tank (I have 3 so that wasn't a problem)
14) Comes with a drip pan
15) It doesn't have brickettes but comes with very highly angled triangular baffles to cover the burners...the angle of the baffles lessens the likelihood of flareups because grease falls down before it catches on fire
16) Very good warranty on all materials and workmanship
17) It has a tank measure so you know when you're low on propane
18) This grill gets hot. I turned it on high and turned around for a few minutes and it was up to 650 degrees and the flavorizer bars were glowing bright red hot....wow -- never had a grill do that before!
19) Very even heating. The burners run left to right on this grill vs front to back. Always in the past, I've had a problem with the back of my grill being hotter than the front. With this grill the heating is more even. There are pros and cons of left to right arrangement of burners vs front to back and probably beyond this review just be aware potential buyer --- left to right works very well for me and I find I can do indirect cooking nicely too.
Grilling with this product is fantastic. This is the best grill I have ever owned and I'm glad I own a Weber Genesis S-310. You might find cheaper grills or bigger grills for the same money or higher BTUs but overall, I think you'll be hard pressed to find a "better grill" out there.
I was apprehensive at ordering such a large product from Amazon but amazed at how fast I got it and the store perfect condition it arrived in. One very happy Weber Owner and Amazon shopper.

Weber 3742001 Genesis E-310 Propane Grill, Copper Review

(More customer reviews)Summary -- a great grill with even cooking across the grill, gets hot (over 600 deg F), with a bit of clunky charm and plenty of accessories.
OK -- I've had a very expensive grill (>$2k) for the past 5 years, and traded it for furniture when I moved. After researching grills, the great unwashed mass and periodicals indicated that Weber Grills had even temperatures across the grill. That was important because my former grill was hot, hot, hot but very uneven in temps across the grill. My only concern with the Weber was, "Is it hot enough?"
Quick Answer -- yes -- it climbed to 550 F fairly quickly and was still climbing. That was important because I want to grill Pizza.
Assembly - I hope you have your own hex set because the one supplied takes time. An auto screwdriver is a helpful addition. This is a 2 person bonding experience for assembly, at least for me, as I'm easily bored. The directions (pictures) are not bad but doesn't anyone write a manual using words in our native tongue? Assembly may take 1.5 hr +/- depending on your do it yourself talents.
First time use was steaks -- the grill is hot! and sears well -- they turned out perfectly - medium rare; Second time was chicken; next was scallops. They all turned out delicious and the grill is a snap to use.
I recommend the grill cover and adding the smokers kit if you want to slow cook ribs, chicken, etc. I laid a smoke box on the Weber twice and the grill produced fine smoke. I think the Weber kit will smoke the chips faster and hotter since it lays on the flavor grates.
The cons? OK -- it is clunky looking compared to my uber-expensive grill. But then, it was $649 (LP Version) and cooks better than Mr. Uber-Expensive.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this grill and highly recommend it.

Weber 7402 Charcoal Rails Review

(More customer reviews)The Weber 7402 Charcoal Rails work as advertized. They are easy to install and remove yet fit firm and do not come out unintended. Simply engineered by the same people that make the charcoal grate so it fits perfectly. There are no installation instructions or diagram so for those that are dense as I was for about 5 minutes you hook the outer most cross rail and wedge the end opposite the hooks between the grates. This is for an 18 ½ inch grill so the 22 ½ inch may not be the same. As far as the practicality of the use on an 18 ½ inch grill the best you can do is one medium sized rack of ribs or a very well trimmed brisket. Flank steak and skirt steak fit perfect. Whole fish one medium fits fine as well.

Weber 1428001 Performer Charcoal Grill, Dark Blue Review

(More customer reviews)I say this is ONE of the best grills ever, only because I already said that the Weber One-Touch Gold is the best grill ever in a previous review. These are both fantastic grills, but now that I have a Performer, with its added features, I will have to say it might be better than my Weber Gold. Why? Here are my reasons...
It has a gas ignition system. So I no longer have to use my Weber Chimney Starter which works great, but 5 minutes of gas burning under my pile of charcoal is much easier. Plus its one less piece of equipment I need cluttering up my garage.
It has a decent sized work area. The tabletop area on the Performer is very handy. My Gold does not have a shelf, so I keep it near a small table and use that as a work area. Thats one less piece of furniture I now have cluttering up my deck.
It has a thermometer on the lid. I love that feature! Normally I remove the lid, hold my hand over the coals, and start counting seconds to try to figure out what my temperature level is. Since I no longer have to heat up my hand to check temperature, my beer stays colder when I hold it. How can you put a price on a feature that important?
It has a wire lid holder instead of a small hook welded to the inside of the lid. I was okay with the hook lid holder but my wife always had a problem getting it lined up. I know, why is my wife even touching the grill? The Performers wire lid holder hangs the lid much higher, and is actually pretty handy if it is windy because it blocks the wind much better than the hook type lid holder which hangs the lid pretty low down on the kettle.
It has a storage area. I know the storage area is designed to hold charcoal, but I store my charcoal in the garage because when it is stored outside it tends to absorb moisture from the air. In the garage it stays nice and dry. I use the storage area to store some tools and I roll up the grill cover and store it there when I am cooking.
There is only one negative comment I have about this grill. Weber should have stayed with the 5 lb propane tanks. I am not a fan of using the 1 lb disposable propane tanks. There are two ways around this problem, the first is to get a hose and adapter so you can connect to a 20 lb propane tank. Or you can get a Propane Tank Refill Adapter and then use it to fill up the 1 lb disposable bottles from your 20 lb propane tank. That is what I do and I am able to reuse the disposable bottles over and over again.
In my opinion a Weber charcoal grill is superior to any other charcoal grill I have ever used. Maybe something even better will come along one day, but I cannot imagine what they could do because the Weber is already charcoal grilling perfection.
Now all I need is to get a Weber Kettle Rotisserie and I am all set. Fathers day is coming, are my sons paying attention???

Weber 7420 Gourmet BBQ System Sear Grate Set Review

(More customer reviews)I have used this grate several times for steaks and love it. No more raising the lid and turning the steaks 90 degrees to get the good sear marks. I think the regular grate is better for burgers, chicked, and all other food. The sear grate I use for steaks only, and it does a fantastic job. Being able to leave the lid down except for turning half way through the sear and moving the steaks to the side to finish on indirect heat means much more uniform steaks. As with all Weber kettle grills, cooking on high heat requires monitoring the time cooked to sear and finish on indirect heat very closely. Don't spend too much time sitting down enjoying your beverage while using this.

Weber 2726 Wood Burning Fireplace Review

(More customer reviews)I had shopped around for a patio fireplace for a couple of years. I didn't like any of the ones sold in the chain stores (Lowes, Home Depot, Target, Sears, etc.). They were poorly built and looked like they would rust out quickly. The more quality built ones were too expensive for what essentially is just a fire ring. I stumbled across the Weber Wood Burning Fireplace and after a little research purchased it. Like all things Weber, it isn't the most flashy or even the best but it is well designed, sturdy, and should last for years. We have used ours once and I will share a number of observations and comments on previous reviews.
First, the small aluminum bowl underneath the fire bowl is not an ash catcher. It is a heat shield. This fireplace should not be used on a wood or composite deck. We have a brick patio and it is safely used there.
Second, where we live (Central, OH) there is no need for a screen around the fireplace. Perhaps in more fire prone areas it would be a good idea, but then again, should you have an open fire in those areas? For my uses a screen is not useful or needed and would just make adding fuel more difficult.
Third, to the commenter who said the fireplace is too smokey, it's the green wood you burned that produced the smoke, not the fireplace. I used well seasoned wood as anyone should and it produced about as much smoke as one would expect.
Fourth, you do not need to use the lid but there is one major advantage to doing so when the weather is cool: the lid helps direct heat down rather than allowing it all to rise quickly. In other words, it keeps more heat down at chair level when you're sitting around the fireplace.
Fifth, the lid does indeed smother the fire quickly. The lid is just tight enough to smother the fire. That's a huge plus since it means you don't have to wait until the fire dies out on its own to go inside. Nor do you have to douse the fire with water to put it out. In the case of this product, I'd recommend you don't do that anyway unless you want to ruin the porcelain finish.
Sixth, it took about 30 minutes to assemble. Even though the handles are wooden, you will still need heavy gloves to move the lid out of the way and move the riser. I have the 2010 model and the handles are sturdy and solid.

(More customer reviews)I have had this grill for three years. It has been used almost daily for two seasons. Twice, I dropped the lid chipping the porscelin. It has been relocated by careless movers once. It still survives and is completely functional. Not only that, no parts have rusted on it. If I order a...lid, it will look like it just came out of the box.
Maintenance is easy. In fact, if the grill is emptied thoroughly, the ash catcher can be used to hold the rinse water if you are unable to clean it outside (you do have to empty it often). I have, in fact, cleaned this grill in my kitchen, with out much of a mess. It really hasn't been any more difficult then cleaning a regular oven.
Cooking is very even, the swing-outs on the grid make adding charcoal easy during indirect cooking. I purchased a set of rails to hold the charcoal to each side. I insert my drip pan in the middle, and then put more charcoal as needed in the grill without disturbing the food by opening up the swing-outs in the grate to add charcoal. This is a very handy feature. For direct cooking, you just place the charcoal over the bottom grid as per instructions.
The manual contains several useful recipies to get you familiar with this cooking device. I highly recommend reading it, and following its instructions. The Weber One-Touch Gold 18-1/2" is a worthwhile purchase if you are cooking for one or two people, and will more then pay for its self as compared to eating brats at the hot dog stand. Buy this grill, and you'll eat T-bones and baked potatoes for FAR less then at a steak house, for a very long time!

(More customer reviews)Weber makes their grills to last, and part of that is offering replacement parts at reasonable prices. These igniters usually last around 5 years of heavy use before part of it fails (usually the stainless steel igniter box), though you can sometimes revive a dead igniter by cleaning the gunk out of it.
Anyway, this igniter takes around five minutes to install. Make sure you poke the small metal tab through the small bottom hole rather than trying to squeeze it into the main igniter hole.

Weber Style 6452 Barbecue Apron Review

(More customer reviews)This is an apron with a bottle opener attached. Done, and done. Seriously though, this is a great quality apron. It's about twice as thick as the "Kiss the Cook" type aprons you can get at the supermarket, and it looks more like what a man would want an apron to look like. It basically looks like they took a car mechanics uniform and turned it into an apron.
It has a small pocket at the top for a probe thermometer, a wide but not deep pocket in the middle, and a beer sized pocket to the side. It also has a bottle opener attached with a little cord.
It would be better with the addition of a small pocket for recipe cards and the like. Also, the neck hole is a little larger than I would prefer. I'm not tucking briskets under my chin or anything, but splashes do happen.
BTW I bought this because I ruined a pair of shorts when I bumped into a greasy part of my grill. Live and learn.
Update: I overlooked the fact that the neck strap and waist ties are all the same thing. It's just one long strap, and you can adjust the neck hole accordingly.
